Elmwood Park Psychiatric Associates provides a variety of substance abuse treatment programs, including residential, outpatient, short-term care and detoxification. A registered therapist with a Master’s degree specializing in Addictive Disorders is required to treat patients in the appropriate setting. Treatment is provided by licensed therapists who are board certified in substance abuse treatment. Inpatient services may include substance abuse treatment in a hospital or facility or be brief visits that last no more than a few hours at a time. Some facilities offer outpatient counseling and therapy, while others have a full range of inpatient and outpatient services to meet the unique needs of their clients.
The intensive outpatient treatment offered by Elmwood Park Psychiatric Associates, New Orleans, is focused on meeting the immediate needs of the client. They strive to ensure that the addict receives personal, spiritual and emotional support and is able to participate in the group therapy sessions as much as possible. The therapists and counselors use multiple forms of communication and work with the addict on a one-on-one basis to help them develop an effective plan for recovery and to assist them with relapse prevention.
The substance abuse treatment program is provided in a secure and confidential setting. Patients may be referred by their physicians, family or friends, or they may come in on their own. Clients can also be provided on an outpatient basis with an intensive outpatient treatment program, where they attend a specific treatment facility for a shorter period of time. Both types of programs are provided by licensed and trained therapists and counselors, depending on the severity of the addiction and the need of the individual. Some facilities also offer insurance benefits to clients who participate in the treatment program.
