Integrity Sober Living & Wellness is a non-profit organization that provides resources and programs for those who are struggling with alcohol and other substance addictions. The organization offers twenty-four hour hot lines and support for its clients, as well as an extensive variety of educational and experiential opportunities, including art exhibits and performances. The organization offers many programs and activities to help clients break addictions and return to a healthy, productive life. In addition, Integrity Sober Living & Wellness also helps clients to create a plan for living sober and utilizing sober living houses, while attending to their health and wellness needs. Its programs also include a network of professionals and volunteers who can assist clients in reaching their goals of sobriety.
The center’s board members are all former addicts, including three former alcoholics, whose personal experiences have shaped the foundation of the Sober Living House. Joining the board is the most important step a client must take toward recovery; however, just being aware of the possibilities and potentials is not enough. Anyone who accepts the position of board member is required to participate in regular Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and attend any special events sponsored by the Sober Living House. A true sober living environment offers a safe, secure setting for clients to learn to face their problems in the open, without the danger of further isolation. The board meetings offer information and resources on achieving sobriety and on strengthening the bonds between family members and the addict.
The mission of the Sober Living House is to create an atmosphere that promotes sobriety in addition to providing a safe, comfortable, warm, dry, and clean living environment. The transition from the addiction to sobriety will be enhanced through the involvement and guidance provided by the Board of Directors. By following the Sober Living House’s Ten Principles and their daily schedule of activities, it is possible to live a life that is free from alcohol dependence and stress.
