The Pat Moore Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides support to people in need with an alcohol and drug addiction problem. The Foundation provides the necessary tools to help these individuals understand the nature of their addiction, prepare for sobriety, and find the assistance they need to get and stay clean. This program was created by Pat Moore, who has decades of experience as a drug addiction counselor and was a dedicated alcohol and drug abuse volunteer for the Drug Rehab Center of Southern California. The program aims to empower addicts and empower those fighting the battle against drugs and alcoholism.
Those who are interested in learning more about the nature of alcoholism and what causes it are encouraged to visit the website, which offers a variety of educational modules. Each module focuses on a different aspect of drug addiction treatment including biological, emotional, social, and psychological components. Aftercare programs are discussed in detail as are peer support groups and nutrition and fitness programs. The Foundation educates patients and families on how to take part in aftercare activities, such as light exercise, nutritional supplements, family therapy, group therapy, and yoga.
Those who wish to receive outside counseling are also welcome to attend meetings of the Pat Moore Foundation’s Board of Directors or volunteer at one of their events. These include meetings with local law enforcement, alcohol and drug addiction treatment providers, and local government officials. Events focus on local issues that affect families in the community, such as affordable housing, child welfare, arts and crafts, and education. Events also provide a forum for other professionals to share ideas and experiences about drug addiction treatment programs, resources available to help individuals recover, and open minds to new treatments and programs for the future.
