The McAlister Institute – North Coastal Regional Recovery Center was established in 1974 by Dr. George McAlister who is a former addict and was a medical doctor. He wanted to create an alcohol and drug treatment center for the people of North Carolina and realized that people were needing a recovery from drug addiction treatment center. So he founded the McAlister Institute and named it after his daughter Brandy. They have been providing treatment for drug addicts and alcohol abusers for twenty-five years. The drug rehab center offers both inpatient and outpatient services, which enables the patients to recover fast while attending regular scheduled activities.
This is a non-profit addiction treatment program. The drug rehabilitation center provides various types of addiction treatments to the addicted people. The main aim of the center is to help in achieving sobriety through inpatient services, group therapy and community activities. Treatment procedures like detoxification, medicinal care, social services, individual counseling, group therapy, individual and family counseling, support for spouses are provided in the McAlister Institute drug rehab facility.
The center has two residential treatment centers. The Alcoholics Anonymous facility has adult and child treatment programs for those who are suffering with a substance abuse problem. The Narcotics Anonymous community provides treatment for heroin and other drug addicts. The center also offers outpatient programs for those who are suffering from an alcohol addiction and alcoholism problem. All these services are offered to people suffering from various types of addiction including alcoholism and drug addiction.
