The center has a number of individualized programs for clients, including drug for persons with co-occurring mental and substance abuse problems, drug rehab for men and women, and drug rehabilitation for women and men. The center has a number of detoxification units in its wings, including the detox unit, which is only for the treatment of alcohol or heroin addicts. There are also the inpatient units, which are for clients who have a serious addiction or two and require intensive treatment. Street and inpatient units are also available for those requiring in-patient treatment.
The center’s inpatient units include the following: the Livingstone Unit, the South Sound Unit, the Harbor Unit, the North Sound Unit, and the Van Nuys Unit. These units offer a number of services, which include but are not limited to, detoxification, group therapy, social activities, experiential therapy, and medical services. The outpatient treatment options include the following: the Crisis Unit, the Med Spas, the Outpatient Medications, the Treatment and Research Programs, the Family Therapy Program, and the Early Intervention/First Steps. The Clinic has an Accreditation Program and is one of the approved providers of the Diagnostic Autism Treatment Centers (ADT). The Center for Drug Evaluation and Monitoring was established to coordinate national efforts on substance abuse and depression.
The main office building of the center is located in the corner of Avenue E and C streets in West Hollywood. The second building is a single story apartment building. All of the rooms and apartments have kitchens and full bathrooms. The Center for Drug Evaluation and Monitoring, which is the local agency coordinating regional substance abuse and mental health resources, coordinates all of the services and programs offered at the Wheeler Clinic. The two treatment centers offer a wide range of programs for people who are suffering from addictions, including but not limited to, alcohol, drug abuse, gambling, pornography, sex addiction, prescription drug abuse, and self-destructive behavior.
