Lifeline of Wheeler Clinic New Britain CT 06052

The Lifeline of Wheeler Clinic is a residential treatment facility for people suffering from substance abuse or addiction. In a residential setting, patients can be attended by a psychiatrist or therapist for individual or group counseling, therapy and support. Counseling can include family sessions that allow the family and friends of the patient to share their feelings about the illness and recovery. Many times, the treatment at the center also includes medicinal therapy. The goal of the treatment process is to get the patient out of the cycle of addiction and back to living a productive life free from alcohol and substance abuse.

People who suffer from this illness are unable to control their use of drugs and alcohol. They become so immersed in the drug and alcohol world that it becomes a serious matter for them. Many times, they start to skip meals, take laxatives and engage in other compulsive behavior to ease the intense cravings they feel when they have an addiction. In the course of caring for a loved one who is addicted, the caregiver may find themselves faced with a crisis as severe as overdose or death.

There are a number of agencies in the New Britain area that offer both inpatient and outpatient treatment programs. If someone you love is fighting a difficult addiction, contact your local New Britain Connecticut drug rehab program or resource center for more information. The staff at these facilities will work closely with you and your family to help you address the underlying issues that are causing the addict to become emotionally unstable and/or substance dependent. Once you have made a plan for recovery, you and your family can get started on the road to recovery.
