Catholic Charities, or Catholic Action, is a non-profit agency of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York and is located in Fairfield County, Connecticut. It was founded by the Blessed Father John Carroll in Hartford, Connecticut in 1971. Since then, the charity has grown into a global charity organization with various activities. The charity operates several rehab centers across the United States, including in Boston, Massachusetts; North Chicago, Illinois; and Miami, Florida.
