Oxford House Alabama Mobile AL 36601

Oxford House is one of the newest developments in Mobile, Alabama. It is a residential hotel that offers upscale suites and apartments with an onsite fitness center and pool for residents to enjoy on a nightly basis. The hotel itself has seven units with fully furnished bathrooms, dining rooms, and living spaces for residents. There are also over two hundred showers in the building and the bathrooms boast walk-in bathtubs, whirlpool baths, and jetted water systems.

Oxford House does have a rather strict rules set for their Sober Living Homes residents. In order to qualify for Sober Living, they must demonstrate a deep and abiding desire to be abstinent from alcohol for a period of time. They also need to show that they have made every attempt to change their lifestyle and avoid all contact with alcohol. These requirements do not seem overly onerous to most people, especially in a conservative area such as Mobile, Alabama. However, many people are concerned about the potential environmental damage that having no alcohol consumption after a certain amount of time can cause. While there have been no reported cases of such damage being caused by Oxford House Sober Living Homes, the concern is a legitimate one and deserves to be addressed with caution.

As with any reputable residential hotel in Mobile, Alabama, Oxford House takes the alcohol issues very seriously and works closely with its residents to help them make the transition to sober living as smooth as possible. Residents are encouraged to participate in 12-step programs run by the hotel staff and to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings once a week. There are also support group meetings held at the residence on a regular basis, especially for those newly-regretted by past experiences with alcohol. Another great thing about the program at Oxford House is that there is a strong support system in place for any former residents or those who may need help dealing with alcoholism. Oxford House has a helpline dedicated to guiding those struggling to quit, as well as offering other support groups, including one that provides one-on-one counseling with an alcohol specialist.
